Highlights of this cruise include:
Puerto Caldera
It's wild, it's beautiful and Costa Rica's eco-factor is off the charts. Here find steaming volcanoes, lush rain forests and nearly half of all the animal species on earth. Plus a modern capital high in the mountains.
Huatulco
Everything you ever wanted in a seaside resort: warm sun, sandy beaches and nine beautiful bays rimmed in every shade of blue. Nearby: low-growth caducifolia jungles teeming with birdlife and the nesting grounds of endangered sea turtles.
Acapulco
A world-class resort town renowned for its beaches, magnificent tropical villas and hotels, and, of course, the daring cliff divers of La Quebrada.
Los Angeles
Nestled up in the hills is the Hollywood sign, marketing this city as the entertainment capital of the world. Stroll glamorous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, take a drive to Malibu or soak up the beach scene on Venice's colorful boardwalk.
Hilo
On the lush side of the Big Island find world-class botanical gardens, macadamia-nut plantations and, of course, the molten lava flows of Kilauea, home of Pele, hotheaded goddess of fire.
Honolulu
Classic Hawaiian allure: pineapple plantations, surfing beaches, hula shows, luaus and high-energy discos. Quieter moments await at the ArizonaMemorial.
Noumea
New Caledonia's lush beauty has earned it many names, including "The Island Closest to Paradise" and "The St. Tropez of the Pacific." The poincianas, or flame trees, will color the island with their bright red umbrellas when you visit.
Sydney
First came the Aborigines, 50,000 years ago; then 759 British convicts, followed by a wave of military settlers known as the “Rum Corps.” The result: Sydney’s bold, egalitarian charm. History, opera, opals and koalas are all here.
Melbourne
A genteel city of Victorian buildings, verdant parks and a vibrant multicultural heart full of galleries, restaurants, fashionable boutiques - no wonder Melbourne has been named the planet's most livable city.
Semarang
Step back into the colonial days of the Dutch East India Company in Old Semerang. Or journey to Borobudur Temple, where ten massive stone terraces, each representing a different stage of enlightenment, are topped by the Great Stupa.
Hong Kong
Can any city in the world top Hong Kong's phenomenal energy? Judge for yourself as you ride the tram to the top of Victoria Peak, join the surge into countless markets and watch the hardworking world of Aberdeen's fishing junks.
Shanghai
Neon pulses, soaring skyscrapers pierce the sky, construction never stops in Shanghai’s race to modernity. Still, you can feel the city’s silk past in the peaceful Yu Gardens, its history as a financial powerhouse in the international banks along The Bund.
Singapore
The cultural crossroads of the world, where in the space of a few hours you can relax in a quaint Chinese teahouse, purchase a colorful sari in Little India and visit a Sultan mosque. Ponder it all on the verandah of the famous Raffles Hotel.
Mumbai
Mumbai, the "Gateway to India," sprawls over seven islands linked by causeways and bridges. A study in contrasts, the former city of Bombay has everything from soaring skyscrapers and lively marketplaces to women washing their clothing in the sea.
Victoria
Seychelles is an archipelago of 158 islands in the Indian Ocean located northeast of Madagascar. Tiny Victoria is its capital city, located on Mahe Island.
At the market, you can sample juicy fruits and succulent vegetables. Wander the narrow streets in the old town, where crumbling colonial buildings and quaint alleyways await discovery. Or you might prefer the wide promenades and sumptuous gardens of the modern city center, home to a clock tower and two cathedrals. Check out the lush Victoria Botanical Gardens and the Victoria Natural History Museum.
Mombasa
Vibrant Mombasa lies on the coast, home to white sand beaches and coral reefs teeming with tropical sea life. The remains of Fort Jesus stand out from the harbor and are home to a small historic museum.
Get a taste of local Swahili village traditions in Mombasa's Old Town, where narrow streets and curio shops beckon. Buildings here are based on ancient designs and feature intricate carvings and detailed lattice work. In the modern center, stroll Moi Avenue for a souvenir, and discover the city's famous ceremonial arch. Nearby, the Shimba Hills National Reserve is home to the rare endangered sable antelope. Adventurers can head to Mamba Village in Nyali, East Africa's largest crocodile farm.
Durban
The coastal port of Durban lies along the Indian Ocean in the Kwa-Zulu Natal province of South Africa, where golden sand beaches meet warm blue-green waters. This stretch of pristine beach in the central area of the city is called the Golden Mile, but in fact stretches out for four miles, making it a beachcomber's paradise. If surfboards and sunbathing are not your thing, the promenades fronting the beach are a haven for flea markets and shops.
Jump into a three-wheeled 'tuk-tuk' for a unique look at the city. Head to the Victoria Indian Street Market, where you can visit temples, shop and sample local flavors. Amid British colonial buildings, a variety of historic museums and quiet parks await your exploration. Nearby, enjoy the lush Umgeni River Bird Park, home to more than 3000 bird species.
Walvis Bay
The apricot-colored sand dunes behind Walvis Bay are populated by gemsbok, springbok, ostrich, brown hyena, the rare, long-legged desert elephant, and sometimes even cheetah-amazing for such an apparently inhospitable environment. Inching ever closer is the relentless Namib Desert.
Bridgetown
Some say this island is more British than Britain. Here cricket is the national sport, afternoon tea goes without saying and motorists hug left. The friendly island spirit, local rum and fried flying fish are strictly Bajan!
