Highlights of this cruise include:
Rome
Head straight for the many treasures of Rome and the Vatican: St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum and more.
Istanbul
Known in the course of history as Byzantium and Constantinople. This city's rich past is evident in such sights as the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace, home of Ottoman sultans.
Sochi
The Caucasus Mountains rise up behind the beach town of Sochi, on the Black Sea. Known for both its coastline and alpine valleys, the area boasts healing waters, mineral spas, lush arboretum and gardens-so it's no wonder that this city is a candidate for the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Trabzon
A stroll through the stony streets of Trabzon reveals the ancient empires that once occupied this stretch of land along the Black Sea. From the charm of the bustling bazaar to the colorfully painted houses, the Byzantine and Ottoman eras peek through from preserved fortress walls. Take in the view from the hills above the city, or from the spectacular Sumela monastery.
Athens
The port of Piraeus is your gateway to the wonders of Athens, including the Acropolis, Constitution Square, Hadrian's Arch, the Olympic Stadium and more.
Valletta
St. John’s Co-Cathedral, with its elaborate inlaid marble tombstones and Caravaggios, is here, as is the Grand Master’s Palace.
ST Tropez
Sweeping views of the coast can be seen from the 16th-century citadel. Or claim a chair in a quayside café and watch the flirtatious French Riviera pass by.
Toulon
A salty city with a feel and culture all its own. Try the renowned bouillabaisse or tour the lovely towns and vineyardsof Provence.
Portimao
The Algarve region of Portugal is famous for its cosmopolitan air, clear blue sea and golden sand beaches surrounded by rugged cliffs. Portimao offers all this and more. Some say the best way to experience this region is to simply sit still and forget the time. You can do just that in any number of public gardens - or stroll the old town and discover a hidden treasure to get lost in.
The 18th century palace of the Viscounts of Bivar and other architectural beauty can be found in old town, and some ruins of the town's ancient walls can still be seen as you walk through its tidy squares. Browse one of the busy markets, and don't leave without sampling one of Portimao's most tasty and famous residents - the sardine. Nearby, the town of Alvor boasts the ruins of a Neolithic village and a 16th century Moorish church.
Funchal
Lush and lovely, Madeira is famous for its wine.
Ft Lauderdale
There is an abundance of things to see and do in the Ft. Lauderdale area: visit the newly redesigned Ft. Lauderdale Beach and cafes, stroll the historic Riverwalk, shop the luxurious stores on Las Olas Boulevard or venture to the Everglades for an intriguing air boat excursion.
