Holland America Line - Booking Conditions
DEPOSIT:
To hold space up to time of "final payment", a deposit amount will be advised to you by your consultant and must be received by the "deposit due date". If we do not receive your deposit by the due date, the booking will automatically cancel. If the optional Cancellation Protection Plan is required, it MUST BE BOOKED WITH RESERVATIONS AND PAID AT THE TIME OF DEPOSIT.
FINAL PAYMENT:
Final payment is due in our office 70 days prior to passenger's departure date from Australia for cruises of less than 26 Day is duration and 95 days prior for cruises of 26 days or more in duration.
CANCELLATION PROTECTION PLAN (CPP):
CPP allows you for any reason, to provide written cancellation up to 24 hours prior to scheduled cruise or tour departure and receive a cash refund equal to 80% of the applicable cancellation fee. Cost of CPP is a percentage of the tariff (refer to brochure). CPP IS OPTIONAL, and MUST BE BOOKED WITH RESERVATIONS AND PAID FOR AT THE TIME OF DEPOSIT and IS NON-REFUNDABLE. The CPP is NOT insurance. In addition, HAL automatically assumes an additional US$500.00 of liability for lost, damaged or delayed baggage of passengers who purchase CPP. It provides no rights other than those explained above. For example it does not protect double/triple/quad occupancy rates should one or more members of your party cancel, nor does it cover expenses due to trip interruption.
ADMINSTRATION AND AMENDMENT FEE:
Our agency charges a A$310.00 per person administration fee on all cancellations made after the confirmation. This fee is paid with the deposit and deducted from the final balance. Please note, this fee is charged regardless of whether or not the Cancellation Protection Plan is taken out. An Amendment fee of AUD$20.00 per person (incl GST) will apply to any additional modification requested after the original booking has been made and confirmed.
CANCELLATIONS & ALTERATIONS:
A full refund (except for amounts paid for the CPP and our agency administration fee) will be made for written cancellations received by Holland America at least 70 days, or 126 days for cruises longer than 26 days, prior to date on which you are to commence travel by air, ail sea or otherwise. If CPP is declined or the cancellation is not made in accordance with the terms of the CPP, the following fees will apply regardless of resale:-
Cancellation of sailings 26 Days or Longer:
- 120-91 days prior to departure – amount of deposit
- 90-76 days prior to departure – 60% of gross fare incl NDA.
- 75 days or less – 100% of gross fare incl NDA.
Cancellations of sailings under 26 Days:
- 76-46 days prior to departure - amount of deposit
- 45-16 days prior to departure - 50% of gross fare incl NDA
- 15 days or less - 100% of gross fare incl NDA
To cover administration costs, a charge of up to A$150.00 per person will be made if you request a change after final payment is due. Change charges are not assessed for stateroom upgrades or for additions of services unless travel documents must be reissued. Name changes and departure date changes are considered reservation cancellations and are subject to cancellation fees.
DINING & DOCUMENTATION:
Dining requests must be made at time of booking (otherwise dining defaults to Main Upper. Changes to dining requests cannot be made inside 60 days prior to cruise date. Cruise documents are prepared in the USA, and will be sent to you approximately 21 days prior to departure of cruise. It is most important that the reservation be made in the full passport name of the passengers otherwise booking will not be accepted. If name changes are required after documents have been issued, a fee of A$100 per person will be charged for reissue.
